Super Cheese Hot Sandwiches

Cheese hot sandwiches are a tasty, quick, and satisfying option for breakfast. You can customize them with your favorite breads, cheeses, and additional fillings like tomatoes, ham, or herbs for extra flavor.

Super Cheese Hot Sandwiches

Ingredients (for 2-3 servings):

  • Toasty bread – 4 pieces
  • Eggs – 3 small (or 2 medium)
  • Milk – 3 tbsp
  • Butter – 20 g
  • Cheese
  • Dill, rucola (or other greens to taste)
  • Salt – pinch
  • Black ground pepper – pinch

Instructions

1.Break the eggs into a deep plate. Add milk, a pinch of salt, and some black pepper, then whisk everything thoroughly with a fork until well combined.

2. Now take a slice of toasted bread and fully dip it into the egg mixture, making sure it is completely soaked.

Place the soaked bread slices onto a preheated pan with melted butter. I cook four slices at a time in my pan. Fry over medium heat for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

4. While the toast is frying, cut the cheese into rectangular slices. Place two slices on top of each piece of bread, and also add two slices of cheese underneath the bread.

5. Reduce the heat, cover the pan with a lid or foil, and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt completely.

These cheese hot sandwiches are soft and fluffy on the inside, topped with gooey melted cheese, and feature a crispy, golden cheese crust on the bottom.

Cut the finished hot sandwiches lengthwise to create two triangles, making them easier to eat. Arrange them on a plate and sprinkle with finely chopped herbs. I also like to add a few arugula leaves on top — the greens add freshness and extra flavor.
