Homemade oatmeal cookies are a great alternative to store-bought cookies. As everyone knows, the second is not very good in composition and high in sugar. These oatmeal cookies are made with only good ingredients. I especially like the fact that it is based on healthier whole grain flour and long-cooked oatmeal. I also love these cookies for the ease of preparation. My child enjoys taking part in the cooking process. We can say that in the end we get not only tasty and healthy cookies, but also invaluable time spent with our children.
Ingredients:
- Whole grain flour – 1 cup
- Long-cooked oat flakes – 1 glass
- Egg – 1 pc.
- Butter – 150 gr.
- Sugar – 1/3 cup
- Baking powder – 1 pinch
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Raisins – 1/3 cup
- Chocolate – 50 gr.
- Walnut – 50 gr.
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp
- Vanilla sugar – 1 tbsp
Cooking process
1 Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Pour cinnamon and vanilla sugar there. Now add butter to the dry ingredients and grind.
2 Add the egg, oatmeal, raisins, walnuts, chocolate pieces to the mixture and mix well. You can knead it with your hands, or you can use it in a food processor.
3 Leave the resulting dough at room temperature for 10 minutes.
4 After 10 minutes, start forming the cookies. First you need to roll the balls. From the ingredients I received, I got 10 pieces. But you can make more balls, just then the cookies will turn out to be smaller. Then from each ball we form round cookies 0.5-0.7 cm thick. Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. I use a silicone mat instead of parchment paper. We send the baking sheet to a preheated oven to 180 C (356F) degrees for 15 minutes.
After this time, the delicious homemade Oatmeal Cookies are ready. It must cool before serving. The biscuits are soft, with a pleasant cinnamon aroma. You can serve it with milk or cocoa. This combination is what I and the other members of my family like the most. But, if you prefer tea or coffee, it will also be delicious.
