Do you want to effectively serve soup or stew to the table? A freshly baked bread bowls will help you with this. She not only looks spectacular, but also pleases with her taste. What is its crisp crust!
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour all purpose – 300 gr.
- Rye flour – 200 gr.
- Water – 200 ml.
- Natural yogurt – 100 gr.
- Dry yeast – 7 gr.
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Egg yolk for lubrication – 1 pc.
- Milk for lubrication – 2 tbsp. spoons
Cooking process
1 Sift two types of flour into a bowl. Add salt to the flour and mix.
Add dry yeast and sugar to warm water. Stir and pour the mixture into flour. We mix. Add natural yogurt. And knead the elastic dough.
Put the dough in a bowl, cover with a towel or cling film. We remove it for proofing in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
2 Place the risen dough on a floured surface. Next, we divide it into 5 equal parts.
Tear off a small piece of dough from each part. We roll a ball out of it. In the future, it will serve as a handle for a bread lid. We also form a ball from the larger piece. We make a small depression in the center and put a small ball of dough into it.
Put the prepared future bread plates on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. And we leave them in a warm place for proofing for another half hour.
3 We heat the oven to 230 C (445 F) degrees. Pour 250 ml of water into another baking sheet and put it in the oven on the lowest level.
4 After an hour and a half, our bread bowls should have increased in size. Brush them with a mixture of yolk and milk.
We put a baking sheet with bread in a preheated oven. Bake until golden brown. The approximate baking time is 20 minutes.
The finished bread bowls is not very large. But this is convenient, since the big ones usually do not finish eating and throw them away. You can just add the soup if needed.
Before filling the bread with soup, you need to cut off the lid and remove the crumb. Then, in such a prepared form, we send them back to the oven. We bake for 15 minutes at 180 C (360F) degrees. So they will become crispy not only on the outside, but also on the inside.
