Baked beef stew

Baked beef stew cooked according to this recipe is soft, flaky meat. To prepare it, you need a minimum of ingredients. The main thing is to choose quality meat. And then the finished dish will definitely please you.

Baked beef stew

Ingredients:

  • Beef – 700 gr.
  • Carrot – 1 pc.
  • Onions – 2-3 pcs.
  • Tomatoes in their own juice (or fresh grated) – 400 gr.
  • Smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • A mixture of peppercorns
  • Cognac – 70 ml.
  • Broth (or water)
  • Salt

Cooking process

1 Peel the onion and cut it into 4-5 pieces. Peel the carrots and cut into thick half rings.

2 Fry the onions and carrots in a hot frying pan with vegetable oil. Add smoked paprika to vegetables. Stir. Fry for 1-2 more minutes. Add chopped (ground) tomatoes to the pan. Salt, mix and simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Transfer the vegetables from the skillet to a heat-resistant baking dish.

3 In vegetable oil, fry the peppercorns for a couple of minutes (I add different types of pepper). Put the beef into the pan, cut into medium-sized pieces. Pour cognac. Salt. Fry the meat over high heat until lightly browned, not forgetting to turn it over. Approximately 10 minutes.

Transfer the browned meat to the vegetables. Fill everything with broth or water. Close the form with a lid and put it in the oven. Bake (simmer) at 130 C degrees (270 F) for 3 hours.

Ready baked beef stew is tasty and fragrant. The sauce is not thick. This stew goes well with any side dish. You can serve it with mashed potatoes, couscous or rice.
