Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce

Jack Daniel’s BBQ sauce, as you might guess from the name, is prepared with the addition of the famous whiskey. It is a tomato sauce with a deep multifaceted aroma and taste.

Ingredients:

  • Tomatoes in their own juice – 1 can (380 gr.)
  • Onions – 2 pcs. medium size
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Cane sugar (Muscovado) – 2 tbsp.
  • Pitted prunes – 3 pcs.
  • Smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon with a slide
  • Soy sauce – 50 ml.
  • Worcester sauce – 40 ml
  • Jack Daniel’s Whiskey (or any other bourbon) – 50 ml.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.
  • Ground chili (or adjika) – optional
  • Salt

Cooking process:

1 Preheat a frying pan with vegetable oil. Put the garlic chopped into plates in it. Fry for a couple of minutes. Add finely chopped onion. Fry for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add whiskey to the onion and garlic and simmer for a minute. Then add sugar and mix everything well.

It remains to add all the remaining ingredients of the sauce: tomatoes in their own juice, soy and Worcester sauces, smoked paprika, chopped prunes. Cover the pan with a lid. Simmer for half an hour over low heat.

2 A few minutes before the end of cooking, salt the sauce. You can also add dried chili now if you like more savory sauces.

The resulting sauce must be chopped in a blender to a smooth, tender consistency.

Pour the finished sauce into prepared clean bottles. You can sterilize them first if you want the sauce to last longer.

Store Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce in the refrigerator.

This sauce is perfect for serving with many meat dishes. I also use it as a marinade or glaze for beef and ribs.
